1. Who we are

Presence is operated by Miikana Co. ("we", "our", "us"). We provide a gift coordination platform available on iOS and at presence-gifting.miikanaco.com. You can contact us at hello@miikanaco.com.

2. Information we collect

When you use Presence, we collect:

• Account information: your email address, name, and username when you register.
• Profile information: birthday, gender, and sizing info (shirt, shoe, etc.) that you voluntarily provide to help others buy you the right gifts.
• Wishlist content: items you add to your wishlist, including product links, descriptions, and prices.
• Circle data: circles you create or join, and the members within those circles.
• Usage data: pages visited, features used, and general interaction patterns to improve the service.
• Device data: device type, operating system version, and app version (iOS app only).

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Operate and provide the Presence service.
• Enable gift coordination features including wishlists, circles, and occasion reminders.
• Send transactional emails such as magic link sign-in emails.
• Improve and debug the platform.
• Respond to your support requests.
• Comply with legal obligations.

4. Affiliate links and Sovrn Commerce

Presence participates in affiliate marketing programmes. Product links that appear in wishlists or on our website may be affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, Presence may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

We use Sovrn Commerce as our affiliate commerce partner. Sovrn may place cookies or tracking tags on your device when you click an affiliate link in order to attribute purchases. Sovrn's own privacy policy governs their data practices and is available at sovrn.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Affiliate tracking cookies are only placed when you affirmatively click an affiliate link. We do not place tracking cookies merely because you visit our website or open our app.

Affiliate commissions do not influence which products appear in wishlists — those are entirely user-generated. We label all promotional content clearly.

5. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only:

• With Supabase (our database and auth provider) to store and serve your data securely.
• With Sovrn Commerce as described in Section 4 above.
• With other circle members — the profile information and wishlist items you choose to share within your circles are visible to those circle members. Gift claim information is intentionally hidden from the gift recipient.
• When required by law — in response to a lawful request from authorities.

6. Privacy by design

Presence is built with privacy as a core feature, not an afterthought:

• Gift claim information (who claimed your item) is hidden from you at the database level using row-level security — not just the UI.
• Shadow gift suggestions made by circle members about you are hidden from you entirely.
• Your sizing info and personal preferences are only readable by you.
• You control exactly which circles can see each of your wishlist items.

7. Data retention and deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual wishlist items at any time. To delete your entire account and associated data, email us at hello@miikanaco.com and we will process your request within 30 days.

8. Children

Presence is not directed at children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), JWT-based authentication, and row-level security policies on our database. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to or restrict our processing of it. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@miikanaco.com.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of Presence after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
